Linda R. (Rich) Williams

October 28, 1942 ~ November 14, 2017 (age 75) 75 Years Old

Linda R. Williams, age 75, of Geneva, passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Delnor Hospital in Geneva with her loving family by her side.

 

She was born October 28, 1942 in Boston, MA, the daughter of Charles and Edna (Blanchard) Rich.

 

Linda received her bachelor’s degree in German from Southern Methodist University and a Masters in History from North Texas State University. While in Texas, Linda worked with the Martin Luther King Organization in Dallas. She and Loy moved with Loy’s work to Geneva at which time Linda received a Masters degree in special education from Northern Illinois University. She taught special education classes in the Geneva and St. Charles school districts and was principal of the Mid-Valley Co-op. Linda had a lifelong love of horses and she enjoyed classical music, traveling, mountain climbing, and sailing with Loy.  She and Loy lived on their sailboat for six years traveling all around Florida and the Caribbean.  Linda was active in leadership at Fox Valley Presbyterian Church and traveled with Living Waters for the World to Guatemala to install clean water systems.  Linda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt and will be dearly missed.

 

Linda is survived by her dear husband of 52 years Reverend Loy; son Carl Randolph (Sarah Reddick Smith) of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands; grandson Sutton Woodley Williams; sisters Cynthia Michels of Oregon and Nancy Rich of Massachusetts; niece Kiva Michels; exchange student daughter Vero Castro Lopez; and many other dear relatives and friends.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents.

 

Memorial service for Linda will be held Monday, November 20, 2017 at 11:00 am at Fox Valley Presbyterian Church, 227 East Side Drive, Geneva, with Reverend Stephanie Anthony officiating with a brief visitation preceding the service from 9:00 – 11:00 am.  A luncheon will follow the service in the fellowship hall.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Fox Valley Presbyterian Church, 227 East Side Drive, Geneva, Illinois 60134 would be appreciated.
