Josephine J Meagher

Josephine J. Meagher, age 90 of Geneva former long-time resident of Oak Park passed away Monday January 14, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born June 26, 1922 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Pierce Joseph and Ellen (Weightman) Meagher.

Josephine graduated from Oak Park River Forest High School and then attended Rosary College where she received her Masters in Library Sciences. Josephine served as a librarian at the University of Notre Dame. She then worked at Willowbrook High School where she stayed until retiring. Josephine enjoyed gardening, baking and shopping and loved to travel. She also found great joy in being with friends and valued time spent with her family.

She is survived by her sisters Mary Katherine Moran of Batavia and Anne F. Meagher of Geneva; and many nieces and nephews. Josephine will be dearly missed by all those whose lives she touched.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday January 18, 2013 at 10:30 am at St. Peter Catholic Church, 1891 Kaneville Road, Geneva, Father Michael Chernetzki, Celebrant.

Burial will follow at St Mary Catholic Cemetery, Gilberts.

Visitation will be held Friday January 18 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at the Malone Funeral Home 324 E. State St. (Rt. 38) Geneva before proceeding to the church.
