Joan (Jeufufer) Leidig

Joan Ann Leidig, age 80, of Geneva passed away Monday December 10, 2012 at her home in Geneva surrounded by family. 

She was born September 4, 1932 in Joliet, Illinois, the daughter of Wilfred and Pearl (Jeufufer) Hartley.

Joan worked since she was a young girl in the field of arts and entertainment.  She directed, appeared in, and taught theater for countless productions throughout the area for decades.  She also hosted an arts and entertainment show on WSPY TV, Fox Valley Today.  Joan was an active member of First Baptist Church of Geneva. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family.  She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her. 

She is survived by her children Kristen (Jim) Stombres of St. Charles and Philip (Cindy) Leidig of Geneva; grandchildren Allyse Joanna (Steven) Rehak, Alexander Stombres, Austin Stombres, Ryan Leidig and Trevor Leidig; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert, who passed away in 2002; and brothers A.W. Bill Hartley and Lee Hartley.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 19, 2013, at 10:00am, at First Baptist Church of Geneva, 2300 South Street, Geneva.
