James Yerges, age 91, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at The Holmstad in Batavia.
He was born August 1, 1927 in Watertown, Wisconsin, the son of Frederick and Gertrude (Kuemmin) Yerges.
James proudly served his country in the US Navy. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he received his degree in mechanical engineering. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Batavia. James loved to hunt, fish, snow ski and mechanically tinker and fix things, however his greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family and will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his children; Paul (Carolyn) of St. Charles, Illinois, Daniel (Delyn) of Austin, Texas, Carol (Carter) Scofield of Geneva, Illinois, and Glenn (Shawn) of Cambridge, Minnesota; grandchildren Scott (Marla) Yerges of O’Fallon, Illinois, Meagen (Ken) Miller of St. Charles, Illinois, Danny and Rachel Yerges both of Austin, Texas, Nicholas (Jordan) Scofield of Aurora, Illinois, Tyler (Taylor) Scofield of Denver, Colorado, Samantha Scofield of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Kyle, Jillian, and Sandy Yerges of Minnesota; great grandchildren Jacob and Logan Yerges, and Lynn Miller; and many other dear relatives and friends.
James was preceded in death by his parents, three siblings and beloved wife Marie.
Services and interment will be held privately.
