James Wade Palka, age 77, of St. Charles, passed away Monday, April 2, 2018 at his home.
He was born May 30, 1940 in Chicago, Illinois the son of James and Marguerite (Sherman) Palka.
James proudly served his country in the United States Army. As a young man, he loved riding his motorcycle to school at Northern Illinois University. Early in his career he held various jobs. He was a Chicago Police Officer and later worked for IBM. He was a superintendent at Glenbard Waste Water Treatment Facility and after retirement he worked at Carpentersville’s Waste Water Treatment Facility. He was a loving husband, father, and friend who will be dearly missed.
He is survived by wife Agnes “Ange" (Bacoccini) Palka of 52 years and his son Kurt Palka.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation for Jim will be held Friday, April 6, 2018 from 10:00 am until the time of his funeral service at 11:00 am at Chapelstreet Church, 2300 South Street, Geneva with Pastor Chris Sarros officiating.
Burial will be held at Whitney Cemetery in St. Charles.
In lieu of flowers, contributions made to Living Well, 442 Williamsburg Avenue, Geneva, Illinois 60134 would be appreciated.
