Gerald L. Williams

Gerald L. Williams, age 84, of St. Charles, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at Delnor Hospital in Geneva with his loving family by his side.

He was born January 19, 1935 in Arcola, the son of Silas and Effie (Cuppy) Williams.

Gerald received his Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Illinois University and then continued his education by receiving his master’s degree in history from the University of Illinois.  He taught at St. Charles East High School from 1963 – 1994.  In his spare time, Gerald enjoyed collecting political memorabilia.  His favorite pastime however was spending time with his family and he will be dearly missed.

Gerald is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years LuJean (Goodwin); sons Greg (Grace) of Georgia, Brent of Sycamore, and Curt (Trinette) of Tennessee; grandchildren Melissa (Jeremy) Hutchens, Nick, Zach (Katelynn), Olivia, Micah, Cale, Joel, and Jace; great grandchildren Riley and A.J. Hutchens and Jed and A.J. Williams; sister Martha Kay Hesseltine of Mt. Vernon, Washington; and many other dear relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation for Gerald will be held Saturday, January 11, 2020 from 9:00 am until the time of his funeral service at 11:00 am at Fox Valley Christian Church, 40W150 Main Street, Batavia with Rev. Josh LaGrange officiating

Interment will be held privately.
