Emil J. Trch, Jr., age 73, of Geneva, passed away Saturday, September 8, 2018 surrounded by his loving family at Autumn Leaves in St. Charles.
He was born March 21, 1945 in Chicago, the son of Emil Sr. and Helen (Bednarski) Trch.
Emil graduated from De La Salle High School and then went on to earn an undergraduate degree from DePaul University and a master’s degree from North Central College. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Reserves and was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Emil worked for Commonwealth Edison as a tax analyst for many years. He was a proud southsider and as a teenager worked as an Andy Frain usher for the Chicago White Sox. Emil loved to read, fish, and do crossword puzzles, however, his favorite hobby was spending time with his family and he will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years Christine “Tina” (Wroblewski); children David (Laura) of Algonquin, Dr. Kenneth (Colleen) of Geneva, Jennifer (Don) Humphreys of Georgia; grandchildren Jake (Mady), Abby, Al, Evie, Leo, and Luke; great grandchildren Indie and Bennett; brother James (Carol) of New Lennox; and other dear relatives and friends.
Emil was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral prayers will be held Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva proceeding to St. Peter Catholic Church, 1891 Kaneville Road, Geneva for Celebration of Funeral Mass at 2:00 pm with Father Jonathan Bakkelund celebrant.
Interment will be held privately at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Geneva.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 11, 2018 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm at Malone Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7:45 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Peter Catholic Church, 1891 Kaneville Road, Geneva, Illinois 60134 would be appreciated.
