Ellyn M. McGrath

Ellyn M. McGrath, age 66, of Geneva, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2018 at Presence Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, with her loving family by her side.

She was born April 3, 1952 in Chicago, the daughter of Gerald & Lorraine (Botich) Murphy.

Ellyn worked for the Kane County Board as an administrator officer for many years.  She enjoyed crafting, shopping, sewing costumes for plays, and baking Christmas cookies.  Her greatest enjoyment, however, was spending time with her family and she will be dearly missed.     

She is survived by her husband of 41 years Daniel; son Ryan (Sadie) of Marengo; daughter Erin McGrath of Chicago; grandchildren Abigail and Hazel McGrath; brothers Jerry (Janet) Murphy of St. John, Indiana and Michael (Laura) Murphy of New Lennox; sister-in-law Corda Murphy; and many other friends and relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother David Murphy.

Visitation for Ellyn will be held Saturday, July 7, 2018 from 9:30 am until the time of her Memorial Mass at 10:30 am at St. Peter Catholic Church, 1891 Kaneville Road, Geneva.

Interment will be held privately.
