Donald H. "Don" Thielking

Donald H. “Don” Thielking, age 82, of Batavia, formerly of West Chicago,passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at home with his loving family by his side.

He was born January 10, 1935 in Chicago, the son of Henry and Beulah (Johnson) Thiekling.

Don was the owner for many years of Highlake Poultry in West Chicago.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and golfing.  Don was an avid sports fan, and especially loved cheering for the Bears.  His favorite pastime however, was spending time with his family and he will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years Virginia (Hildreth); children Randy (Cindee) of St. Charles, Rae (William) Cunningham of Geneva, Tim (Kathy) Chapman of Elburn, and Anne (Tim) Knuess  of Chandler, AZ; 12 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and many other dear relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Vivienne Regole; and son Rick who passed away in 2008.

A visitation will be held Saturday, January 13, 2018 from 9:00 am until the time of his memorial service at 11:00 am at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva with Pastor Brian Coffey officiating.
