David R. Nations

David R. Nations, age 80, of St. Charles, Illinois, peacefully entered heaven’s gates on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at his home, surrounded by his family.

He was born August 2, 1938 in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Emanuel and Margaret (DeVries) Nations.      

David worked as a mixer at General Mills for over 30 years.  He enjoyed listening to music, working in his yard, and bird-watching.  He also loved woodworking and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, but his favorite pastime was spending time with his family and friends.  He will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Sandra (Carmack) Nations.  Their son, Randy and his wife, Jennifer of Sycamore, Illinois, Granddaughter, Kayla and her fiancée, Troy Potsic, and Grandson, Jacob Nations.  Also surviving are his son, Kenneth Nations; and his daughter, Janet (Marvin) Story of Arkansas, 5 other grandchildren, Heather, Alicia, H.D. and  Joe Nations and Scotty Huett; 9 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Two Brothers-in-“Love”, Charles (Lois) and Dennis (Terry) Carmack; 3 Sisters-in-“Love”, Vernice (Joe) King, Kathy (Ernie) Williams and Kimberly (Roger) Malloy.    Many other precious family and friends also survived him.

He was predeceased by his parents, 7 half-brothers and 2 half-sisters.

David worshipped at Valley View Baptist Church, where he has many friends.

Visitation will be held Sunday, October 21 from 4 – 8:00 pm at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street, Geneva, IL.

Funeral service for David will be held Monday, October 22, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Dennis Ammons (His pastor and long-time friend) officiating.  

Interment will follow at Prairie Cemetery in St. Charles, IL.

Pallbearers will be Jacob Nations, Troy Potsic, Dennis Carmack, Roger Malloy, Ernie Williams and Toney Hughey.  Honorary Pallbearer, Charles Carmack.
