Bernice M. (Goyke) Geier

Bernice M. Geier, age 94, of Geneva, passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born January 12, 1924 in Chicago, the daughter of August and Louise (Hilgers) Goyke.

Bernice was a graduate of Kelvyn Park High school.  She was a Gold Star Mother.  She was a long time and active member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Geneva.  She enjoyed quilting, scrapbooking, and loved camping with family.  She will be dearly missed.  May God hold her in the palm of His hand.

She is survived by her children Jacquelyn (Robert) Zambreno of Geneva, Robert (Patricia) of La Fox, and James (Carla Zambreno) of Utah; grandchildren Noah (Polly), Laura (Gerardo), Jonah, Robert (Lynn), Amy (Dave), Sara (Tom), Todd (Melanie), Jaime, and Ben; great-grandchildren River, Gabriel, Katie, Ben, Mary, Maggie, Jacob, Olivia, Jack, Tim, Julia, Evan, Kendel, Bradey, Teaghen, Jolie, Holden, Archer, Adam, and Alaina; two sisters Mary Hodge and Lorrie Jachim.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Laverne Wood; brothers August and Willard Goyke; grandson Bill; son William, and her loving husband of  51 years Jack who passed away in 1996.

Funeral prayers will be held Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 9:30 am at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva proceeding to St. Peter Catholic Church, 1891 Kaneville Road, Geneva for celebration of Funeral Mass at 10:30 am with Father Ariel Valencia, Celebrant.

Interment will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery in River Grove.

Visitation will be held Friday, April 13 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Malone Funeral Home, Geneva with a rosary recited at 7:45 pm.
