Armondo D. “Ponch” Enriquez, age 62, of Elgin, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2019 at his residence in Elgin, Illinois.
He was born May 2, 1957 in Geneva, the son of Abel and Anita (Duran) Enriquez.
Ponch worked as a union carpenter for many years. He was as an avid fishermen, Chicago Bears and Cubs fan, and was a member of the Moose Lodge for 24 years. However, his greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with his family. Ponch adored his grandkids and was excited for the arrival of his daughter’s soon to be born baby. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend and will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his loving wife 28 years Tammy (Williams) of Elgin; children David (Jill) Williams of Sycamore, Brittany (Jeff) Schmidt of Aurora, Colorado, Shay (Jeff) Meyer of Waterloo, Iowa, and Cody Enriquez of Elgin; grandchildren Danica, Logan, Corbin Schmidt, and Kaysen Meyer; siblings Abel Enriquez Jr, John Enriquez, Maria (Brian) Hornig, Guadalupe (Salamon) Calderon, Jesusita Enriquez, Richard (Isabella) Enriquez, and Teresita Enriquez; and many other dear relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Richard Enriquez.
Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in time.
Interment is private.
