OBITUARY:

John A. Gerlach, 93, of St. Charles passed away Thursday February 25, 2010 at Delnor Hospital in Geneva.

He was born March 8, 1916 in Chicago, IL. the son of Joseph and Elizabeth (Schorsh) Gerlach.

John was a proud veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Air Force. He worked 45 years in sales for the Ball Watch Company of Chicago.

He is survived by his daughter Mary (David) Beckstrom of St. Charles.

In addition to his parents John was preceded in death by his wife, Georgena, who passed away in February 2008, two brothers, Joe and Albert, three sisters, Lee, Betty and Rose and by his nephew Wayne Gerlach.

During his lifetime, John touched many people and brought joy to everyone who he met. His humor and thunderous laugh were contagious. His kindness, generosity and caring ways were experienced by all. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.

Service and Interment will be private.

Memorials may be made in his name to benefit the residents of Provena Pineview Care Center, 611 Allen Ln. St Charles, IL. 60174 and would be appreciated.
