OBITUARY:

Bernardo M. Maradey, age 79, of Batavia passed away Sunday, February 21, 2010 at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood.

He was born August, 20, 1930 in Venezuela, the son of Carmelo and Rosalia Maradey.

Mr. Maradey was a radio telegraphist for 20 years for Ferrominera Orinoco Company in his native Venezuela. Bernardo was a kind and gentle man, and very devoted to his family, and will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of fifty years Ana Teresa Rosillo de Maradey, two children Luz Marina Maradey of Batavia and Miguel Dario Maradey of Brookfield; two grandchildren Ana A. and Luz A. Bottecchia; as well as his sister Maria Jesus Maradey of Venezuela.

He was preceded in death by his parents and seven siblings Nuncia, Francisco “Kiko”, Flor, Esther, Josefina, Pedro “Morocho”, and Ramon.

Visitation will be held Saturday, February 27, 2010 from 3:30 pm until the time of the funeral service at 4:30 pm at the Malone Funeral Home 324 E. State St. (Rt. 38) Geneva, with Father Leonardo Maldonado officiating.

Interment will be private.
