George C. Anderson age 89 of Geneva passed away Saturday February 13, 2010 at his residence.
He was born June 22, 1920 in Chicago, IL. the son of Ernest and Signe (Carlson) Anderson.
Mr. Anderson served in WWII entering the Army Air Corps in February 1942 and was discharged in February 1946. He was united in marriage to Barbara Barnett on October 13, 1945 in England after the war. They settled in their new house in Geneva in September of 1961 where they raised their family. George worked for thirty nine years as a printing manager for Wilson Jones in Niles. He was a longtime member of the Fox Valley Presbyterian Church in Geneva and American Legion Post #75 in Geneva. He was also a member of the 4th Fighter Group Association.
He is survived by his wife of sixty four years Barbara; Three children Roger (Susan) Anderson of England, Holly Anderson of Lisle and Lynn (Scott) West of Barrington; Five grandchildren Jennifer (Jeremy) Cellarius, Michael (Danelle) Anderson, Benjamin Hartschuh, Hailey and Matthew West and two great grandchildren Aidan and Ethan Cellarius.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Forrest and Eric Anderson.
Memorial visitation will be held Thursday February 18, 2010 from 3:00 pm until the time of the Memorial service at 7:00 pm at the Malone Funeral Home 324 E. State St. (Rt. 38) Geneva.
Private burial will be held in Oak Hill Cemetery in Geneva.
In lieu of flowers memorials to Multiple Sclerosis 600 South Federal St. Suite 204 Chicago, Il. 60605 would be appreciated.
