David R. Lacure age 61 of Geneva passed away Sunday February 7, 2010 at Delnor-Community Hospital in Geneva, IL.
He was born October 15, 1948 in Aurora, IL, the son of Ralph and Doris (Long) Lacure.
David had received two Masters degrees from Aurora University in criminal justice and business administration. He served as a St. Charles policeman for 20 years, and also was a part-time policeman in Sugar Grove, as well as a part-time fire fighter and EMT—also with Sugar Grove. He had earned his fire and arson certification.
He worked for B&N Railroad as a policeman after 9/11, and ran his own private investigation agency. He was an avid hand-radio operator as well as a weather watcher. He loved to cook and enjoyed organic gardening. He was a member of the St. Charles Moose Lodge as well as a member of the Unity Mason Lodge # 48 in Geneva. He loved animals, especially his beagles CD who still survives, and Wally and Timex, who both have preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 16 years Denise (Douville); three children Christine (Jamie) Hauser of Aurora, Anne Marie (Dustin) Scott of Arkansas, and David Michael “Mike” (Jen) Lacure stationed in the Navy in Biloxi, Mississippi and his granddaughter Jolie
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held Saturday February 13, 2010 from 3:30 pm until 7:00 pm at the Malone Funeral Home 324 East State St. (Route 38) Geneva with a funeral service to follow at 7:00 pm under the auspices of the Unity Mason Lodge #48 of Geneva.
Interment will be private.
Memorials may be made to the Fox Valley Wildlife Center 45W061 Hwy. 38 Elburn, IL. 60119 or the Gift of Hope where David was an organ donor at 425 Spring Lake Drive Itasca, IL. 60143.
