Terrence W. "Terry" Brooks

Terrence W. “Terry” Brooks, age 75, of St. Charles, passed away Friday, April 19, 2024, at The Grove in St. Charles after a short recent battle of cancer.

He was born June 7, 1948, in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Francis and Eileen (Garbett) Brooks. 

Terry served in the United States Army from 1969 to 1972.  He married Deborah “Debby” Larkins on February 23, 1974. Terry was a loving husband, dad, papa, brother, and uncle who will be missed by his family and friends.  Terry retired after thirty-three years at Burgess Norton in Geneva.  He loved spending time with his family.  As Papa he had a soft spot when it came to the grandchildren.  He was an avid bowler, enjoyed reading and puzzles and having conversations with others.  He was always making sure that others were taken care of whether that be family, friends, or the neighbors.  

Terry is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Debby (Larkins); children Stacy (Shane) Skillin of Sandwich and Kathleen Brooks of St. Charles; grandchildren Savannah, Seth, and Kayle; siblings Malcolm (Marcia) of Plainfield, Patricia Heinz of Ohio, Marie Brooks of St. Charles, and Jane (Stewart) Carr of Elgin; and dear nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and infant son John Paul. 

Visitation will be held Sunday, May 5, 2024 from 11:00 am until the time of his memorial service at 2:00 pm at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva. 

Burial will be held privately. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to your local animal shelter, VFW, or Living Well.
