Marvin L. Abramson, age 99, of Geneva, passed away Friday, April 12, 2024, at Highland Oaks in Elgin surrounded by his loving family.
He was born August 4, 1924, in St. Charles, the son of Lawrence and Teckla (Soderberg) Abramson.
Marvin was a long-time resident of Geneva. He served 7 years in the Navy in WWII and the Korean conflict. He then served 27 years as a postal carrier for the Geneva post office. After retirement Marvin enjoyed traveling with his wife Dorothy and spending time with family and friends. He was a long-time supportive member of the Geneva Lutheran Church.
Marvin is survived by his sons Thomas (Elisabeth) of Texas, Robert (Janet) of Marengo and Jim (Cheryl) of Minnesota; grandchildren Michael (Steven) Cecilie (Will), Julie (Scott), Marjorie, Johnny (Sheena), Katelyn (Jake), Matthew (Melissa) and Hunter (Amber)and 13 great-grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Dorothy (Russell Abramson) of 53 years, sister Doris (Douglas) and brother Clifford.
Visitation will be held Saturday, April 27, 2024, from 9:00 am-11:00 am at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva. Memorial service at 11:00 am with Pastor Trudy Stoffel officiating. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LHf0UuXqzMA
Private burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Geneva.
