Larry L. Lounsbury

Larry Lee Lounsbury, age 80, a longtime resident of Geneva, Illinois passed away Friday, April 12, 2024 at Tower Hill Healthcare Center in South Elgin.

He was born September 14, 1943 to parents Kenneth and Vivian (Koppein) Lounsbury. He grew up in Geneva with his younger sister Lynn in a house on Bennet Street which backed up to the Fox River.

Larry was united in marriage to Catherine “Cathy” Happ in 1979. They were blessed with a daughter, Noel Elizabeth (Lounsbury) Turk. Larry attended Harrison Street Grade School and Geneva High School. Being 6'5" he tried out for basketball but found his real success in bowling. He participated in many leagues over the years and bowled a 299 game. He also enjoyed fishing and went almost yearly with his father in Minnesota and later with Noel as a young girl. Larry worked as a tool and die maker and for more than ten years drove for a messenger service throughout the Chicago and suburban area. Larry, Cathy and Noel were members of the United Methodist Church of Geneva. 

He is survived by his daughter Noel (Eric) Turk; grandsons Luke & Levi; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law; and nieces and nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Lynn Jacobsma, and his wife Cathy who passed away in 2016.

A visitation for Larry will be held Tuesday, April 30, 2024 from 10:00 am until the time of his memorial service at 11:00 am at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva with Reverand Rob Hamilton officiating.  A light lunch will be served after the service.
